UEFA GAMBLE IS LANDED A massive gamble was landed when Panionios came from behind to beat Dinamo Tblisi in the UEFA Cup on Wednesday night.
The Group D clash attracted huge interest on Betfair, with the Tblisi/Panionios half-time/full-time double result market the focus of plenty of attention.
Tblisi to be winning at the break and Panionios to win the match would normally be expected to be trading at around the 33/1 mark but it was punted right the way down from 36 to 5.2 at kick-off.
And it was the backers who collected as Mikheil Kakaladze broke the deadlock seven minutes before half-time for the Georgian side, who prior to kick-off had not scored a goal in Group D, before Panionios struck back in the second half to win the game 5-2.
The gamble was mirrored with the traditional fixed odds firms, with Stan James suspending their betting on the game well in advance of kick-off.
